As the Architectural Team working on the future of the Capitola Wharf, we are excited to share the prepared options for the future of the Capitola Wharf with the community. This is a space for open dialogue, community collaboration, and shared visioning. We want to hear from you!

The images shown in the options are examples from other locations used for conceptual purposes only. The final design with layout, structures, materials, and colors will be created in future steps.
For Options 1 through 5 : The City may utilize grant money and/or general fund money. For the larger, more expensive structures shown in Options 6 & 7, a public / private partnership would be required, in which a private investor pays for the commercial structures and leases the space from the City.
In this option, the entire wharf would be open to the public with no private commercial spaces. A new public restroom would be added at the head (end) of the wharf.
In this concept there is an enhanced public realm with four (4) mobile vendors.
This concept maintains the Wharf as it exists today, keeping the fishing concession and boat rentals, with no additional leased space. The only element added is a new public restroom.
This concept replaces the existing fishing concession with a larger facility that includes enclosed boat storage and boat repair areas.
This concept combines an expanded fishing concession with the addition of mobile vendors. The existing fishing concession is replaced with a larger facility that includes boat storage and repair. Four mobile vendor spaces are also added.
This concept introduces a large, flexible market space structure that would accommodate an open air market for food, beverage, and merchandise and a fishing concession with boat rental storage and repair.
This concept reintroduces the previous uses on the wharf, including a restaurant and fishing concession with boat rental storage and repair.
