Blocks from a world class surf break, this home for a family of six reflects their outdoor lifestyle, with a large front deck for gatherings and daylight pouring into the living room. A loft area above the kitchen appears to float when viewed from below, having been dropped down to tuck under the neighborhood mandated two story height limit. Longtime friends of the architects, the husband and wife clients built the project themselves, serving as general contractors and completing everything from framing to countertop fabrication.
